If you are planning to move and do not have a big moving budget, then doing it yourself may be a good idea. You can save the cost of hiring a moving company by packing, loading, driving, and unloading stuffs yourself. Although this may take a few extra days, it will allow you to save lots of money in hiring movers and drivers.

You can make this easier by asking family and friends to help. If you are lucky, some friends or family members will have some spare time to help. If not, then plan your move more carefully and do it in stages to have enough time.

But going it alone is not for everybody. Using a moving company does have its advantages too. By hiring movers, you don’t have to work as hard moving heavy furniture, boxes, and other items. Its more convenient and can save you lots of time too.

If you need to start your new job right away, then hiring a mover may be your only option. It may cost more than doing it yourself but you can instruct the movers what to do and expect your stuff to arrive within a few days of the planned move date.
