If you’re like most of us, this is an stressful time. There are people to notify, utilities to transfer, and plenty of boxes to pack. All of this adds up to a enormous opportunity for stress.

Strangely enough, actually adding something to your moving checklist may make things easier in the short and long term- and by that I mean hosting a moving sale (a.k.a garage sale, yard sale, white elephant sale, flea market, etc.)

Now I understand that this sounds silly when you first hear it. After all, you’re frantically busy with moving, so how on earth will you have time for a garage sale?

The answer is actually pretty simple. The time required to move is directly related to how much stuff needs to be moved. The more things you have to move, the more time it will take. So when you’re looking around at what needs to be moved, think about this: If you choose not to sell excess items, when will you have time to:

•	get the items organized
•	prepare, wrap and pack them
•	write down the items in your moving inventory
•	make sure the items are properly covered with moving insurance
•	label the boxes the items will go in
•	physically move the items
•	load the items into the truck
•	unload the items from the truck
•	unpack the items at your new destination
•	break down the boxes the items arrived in
•	find space for the items in your new place
•	and set them up?

Also, you might think of it another way. If you imagine that you are simply packing unused items to be delivered at your moving sale

And on the positive side, you might earn between $200 – $1000 on a well-planned, well-executed garage sale, which works out to a pretty decent wage per hour.

Here are a few basic tips:

1.	Pack separate boxes in each room for your “moving sale” items as you pack up everything else. Store “sellable” items in these boxes, and then simply put them out on the actual moving sale day.

2.	Stuck on how to price things? Start by dividing the original price by 5 and then discounting for any damage. This helps insure that most items will be sold out by the time the sale is completed.

3.	It’s easier to make categories of items all the same price, such as “all clothing $4 each.” It also saves hours of time creating tiny price tags! You can also price items by table, meaning everything on a certain table is priced at one fixed price. However, if you follow this route, it can be difficult to remember where each item came from.

4.	Make arrangements in advance to have a charity donation truck arrive at the closing time of your moving sale to take away anything that wasn’t sold. The charity gets donations, and you clear out of any items that didn’t sell by the end.

5.	Price everything to be easily divisible by 2. This allows you to hold a “1/2 price clearance” during the last hour of the sale, and clear out lots of remaining items and pocket cash you might have missed otherwise- you would be amazed how many times I have seen this work successfully.

6.	Have lots of spare change (bills and coins) on hand on your person (not in a box that can be stolen at the sale). Lack of having correct change is a frustrating reason to lose a sale.

7.	Start advertising at least 2 weeks prior to the sale. Use clear street signs in very large letters, ads in local papers, and flyers on cars in a 5-block radius from your place.

8.	Recruit as much help as you can stand for the big day. You can use assistance for watching tables, helping customers move items and answering question.

Following this steps should ensure a successful move and the chance to put some well-earned dollars in your pocket.

Finally, there are several great, FREE resources online for you to use for your move. Here are two from the author’s website, Movers-Edge.com:

There are dozens of tasks to track and accomplish, and there never seems to be enough time to get it all done. In the midst of all this, you don’t want to neglect telling the right people about your new address and phone number. This article will describes the steps involved in filing a change of address with the U.S. Post Office, which types of change of address are available, and how to choose which type to file.

The actual filing of a change of address form with the post office is what many people think of when it comes to the topic of “change of address.” Filing that change of address accomplishes two main goals:

•	It directs the U.S. Post Office to forward mail sent to you old address to your new address.
•	It allows companies that subscribe to the National Change of Address Service (or NCOA) to be notified of your new address.

Change of Address Types: Permanent vs. Temporary

There are two types of address change you can file: a permanent change of address and a temporary one. Now, a good question might be, “Why would I file a temporary change of address instead of a permanent one? It comes down to controlling your privacy.

The information in a permanent change of address is made available to all those companies who subscribe to the National Change of Address service while information filed through a temporary change of address usually isn’t. So, if you file a temporary change of address with the post office and notify each person or organization who sends you mail individually, you’re in charge of who knows that you’ve moved. It also means that it’s more difficult for “junk mailers” to find you.

Keep in mind that you face a trade-off. If you file the permanent change of address, you have a “safety net” in case you’ve forgotten anyone, but you risk the chance that more junk mail may find you. If you file the temporary change of address, you can potentially cut down on junk mail, but you could end up missing out on notifying everyone before the temporary change of address ends, and you will also miss the large number of coupons and discounts forwarded only to those who have filed a permanent change of address.

Change of Address Methods

The post office offers both a traditional, paper-based form (free) for address changes and an online filing option ($1 fee to discourage fraud). You’ll need to specify when your move is taking place, as well as whether the move is for just one person or the entire household.

It’s a good idea to file 4-6 weeks in advance, although many post offices can begin forwarding mail after just a few days. You’ll definitely want to have your mail taken care of so that none of it is arriving on Moving Day itself.

IMPORTANT NOTE: A post office change of address DOES NOT take care of everything. There are a few notable shortcomings to the process:

•	Limited mail types. The post office will be forwarding first class mail and most periodicals. It does not forward “standard mail” (formerly known as bulk permit mail or just “bulk mail.”)

•	Limited time. Even a permanent change of address filing only lasts for 6 months (although it can be renewed for another 6 months). Therefore, definitely register with the post office, but also use a secondary service and/ or notify important contacts individually.

It involves a lot of time, work and planning to be successful. So when it comes down to your actual Moving Day, you want things to go easily. These tips are designed to make your Moving Day easier.

1.	Make sure your cell phone is fully charged. One thing you definitely don’t want to be on your Moving Day is “unreachable.” That goes for both you and everyone else who will be participating in your big day.

2.	Start your day early. You’ll want to make sure that one of the things you don’t pack ahead of time is your alarm clock. Set it for a wake-up time that’s well before your help set to arrive.

3.	Recruit as much help as you can stand. There are plenty of things to be done on Moving Day, even if you have professional movers showing up. Make sure that each person has at least a general idea of which things are going and what rooms they are going to in your new place. Have them help answer questions, run last minute errands, serve food- whatever will take the most stress off you.

4.	Use sitters- Kids and pets are your treasures, and they deserve to have full attention. On Moving Day, that full attention should be from sitters, not from you. It will make things easier on everyone.

5.	Food is your friend- Whether you have professional movers or friends and family, having coffee, orange juice, and bagels or donuts available will make it easier for everyone to get started on Moving Day. It will also help reduce burnout as the day wears on.

6.	Keep cell phone numbers ready and programmed into your phone. Be certain you have the cell phone number of the driver of the truck entered into your cell phone, and that the driver has yours in case you get separated or have a problem. That holds true for everyone else who might be lending a hand on your move.

7.	Have correct payment ready and waiting. If you’re using professional movers, on Moving Day keep in mind that almost all of them will expect and demand payment in full and in cash before they will unload a single box from the moving truck. Make sure you have payment ready and in a form that they will accept as soon as they arrive at your final destination.

8.	Directions- You need to have directions and a map ready for anyone will be driving between your old place and your new place. Have several copies ready just in case you need them.

9.	Label the rooms at your new place. Tape a sheet of paper on the door of each room at your new place, using the same name you used on your box labels (such as BED1 for bedroom 1, etc.). This will cut down on a lot of unnecessary questions when unloading the truck.

Following these basic tips can make a huge difference in making your Moving Day a smashing success! How do you select some reputable movers or relocating companies? The great news is that a tiny amount of time being spent on careful researching potential movers may help insure a totally stress-free move.

Referrals

It is doubtless that getting referrals is totally the best way to begin your review of potential relocating companies. While you may opt for some Yellow Pages and online searches to help, referrals will most definitely provide the most useful leads. Ask your co-workers, friends and new neighbors about their moving experiences. Search for some people who have moved in the term of past year, as relocation companies’ quality may change over time. Make sure you ask for all necessary details such as the names of people they cooperated with, what in their moving went well and what not.

Investigate Potential Moving Company

Once you get to know the basics about your future relocation companies, it’s high time to find out more about people’s experiences. It is quite desirable for you to try to get aware of objective opinions which are totally based on dozens or even hundreds of clients’ evaluations. While almost each moving services provider has had some type of complaints, still having some objective resources is extremely important. It is good news that there are some excellent resources you may use for free. It’s a really good idea to check around and to make sure you know a full picture. Again, almost any relocation company who has been around in the moving market for awhile will have some complaint from some of the customers.

In-home Estimates

A great deal of relocating companies provides a great deal of methods for customers to get an estimate on the web or over the phone. This presents incredible convenience for the consumers. Until a moving services provider’s representative takes a total physical inventory, any estimates for your property they create will not be rather reliable. You might also be quite concerned when a relocating company isn’t interested in your request of in-home visit. It can also quite useful to get more than one estimate for an upcoming move.

Pricing

It is doubtless that price is obviously incredibly important for the purpose of selecting some relevant relocation companies. However, it shouldn’t be the only factor to consider. In fact, I consider that quality, reliability and safety are important as well. When you get to know that you will need trusting all the most important property to be driven off by total strangers, it really puts pricing in some important perspective.

Need some trustworthy company to move your property? Visit http://www.bestmovingcompaniesreviews.com/7363/moving-companies/. So, not to find you in some trouble I would like to share some useful tips on how to select the most relevant one.

1.	First thing first, you need to remember the well know saying that there is no gain without pain. This literally means that you are to step away from your personal computer and open your yellow pages and some other phone directories. You need to visit the offices of the best reputed relocation companies that offer most relevant services in your area. It is true that majority of the good relocation companies have their web sites and you may find the one that suits your current requirements and budget best, but if you are able to find a certain company serving your locality online then it would be really great.

2. Next step will most definitely be to fix appointments with some of the companies to make a personal visit. The actual purpose of this visit is getting a chance to communicate with people who will be actually involved in relocating your personal property. This is also a great opportunity for you to be able to evaluate the skills of the stuff employed in that relocating company. Ask them as many questions as you like. It is important to try to get all necessary details of their previous customers. Contact those clients and get their reviews on the service they were provided. It is incredibly important to get a proper estimate from that people after they make your in-house visit. In addition ensure that the evaluation of your property includes quite detailed breakdown of all the necessary pay outs for your belongings to be incurred and therefore confirm whether the moving company provides their coverage.

3.	Sometimes the following thing happens. Some moving companies take away your belongings properly in their vans or trucks but on the way they move your property from a small container to some large one. The actual objectives behind the deed mentioned is to be able to combine two or more boxes onto one container, so to become able to decrease their travelling expenses but remember that this benefit never gives any favour to the customer. In some cases, such unwanted handling of your belongings may lead to destruction and breakage of your property. So, before selecting a relocation company, make sure that your property will not go through this type of treatment. Also check carefully whether they have their personal tie ups with some insurance companies or it is you who have to care about insurance protection.

Indeed, moving may be quite complicated. But not with our moving company! Visit http://www.bestmovingcompaniesreviews.com/7363/moving-companies/ to get good service. Fortunately, it doesn’t have to be that way. After researching dozens of books, articles and websites, I’ve put together the top 25 moving tips I could find anywhere. They’re organized by category to make them easier to follow:

Getting Organized

1. Start early- Almost everyone has more stuff than they think they do, and almost no one leaves enough time to pack it.
2. Track your progress- Use a calendar to map out the major tasks you need to accomplish. At least once per week, track where you are against the dates on the calendar. Revise your plan if you’re falling behind.

Finding Great Movers

3. Only hire the best- If you choose to hire professional movers, do your research and hire good ones. Poor quality movers really can be worse than none at all. Get referrals from local real estate agents and friends who have moved recently.
4. Research- Investigate your potential movers through the U.S. Department of Transportation, MovingScam-dot-com and the Better Business Bureau.
5. Estimates- Ask for written “Binding Not-To-Exceed” estimates, based on an in-home evaluation of your goods to be moved. This offers you the most accurate estimates with the most protection of your money.

General Packing

6. Pack a suitcase- For each member of the family moving, pack a suitcase as if you’re all going on a 3-day vacation, including changes of clothes, medications, eyeglasses, toiletries, etc. Keep the suitcases separated from all the other items to be moved, such as in your car, at your new workplace, etc. so you’ll have everything you need for the first few days without searching through boxes.
7. Create “Open Me First” boxes- Pick one or two boxes per room as “Open Me First” boxes. Put in them the things you’ll need first at your new location. Then mark the sides of the boxes so you’ll know which ones are which.
8. One at a time- Wherever possible, work on packing just one room at a time (instead of several all at once) to keep things focused and organized.
9. Less is more- Use packing as a way to clean out belongings for donations, a yard sale, and/or the recycling center. Aim to eliminate 1/3 of your belongings. You’ll save time and expense.
10. Tracking small parts- When taking apart items to be moved, such as tables, securely tape screws and other small parts securely to the underside of the item. You’ll always know where to look and save time putting things back together.
11. Save space- Use towels, pillows and t-shirts you’re packing as extra padding around fragile items. It will save room in your boxes.
12. Criss-cross tape- Tape boxes along the seams where the flaps meet together. Then tape perpendicularly at the center of the first tape, forming a cross.
13. Stacking- Stack boxes with the heaviest on the bottom, lightest on top to prevent crushing.
14. The 30-pound rule- Keep each box below 50 pounds absolute maximum and below 30 pounds wherever possible. Heavier boxes lead to injuries, are much more likely to burst their tape or seams and tend to get dropped. Keep a bathroom scale in the room you’re packing so you can keep the boxes below the weight limits.

Box Inventory and Labels

15. “Fat” is in- Use the thickest, darkest marker you can find for labeling boxes. Pencils, pens, tin or light markers are almost impossible to see even just a few feet away.
16. Two sides- Label each box on the two broadest sides, opposite one another. That way if a box gets turned, you can still identify its contents.
17. Abbreviate room names- Start box labels with the abbreviated name of the room followed by a box number, such as “BTH2-6” for “second bathroom, 6th box.” You can then track each box to make sure everything arrived safely.
18. Identify contents- Identify the major contents and where they came from, such as “Medicine Cabinet” or “Linen Closet- Towels and Wash Cloths.”
19. Box Inventory- Keep a clipboard and write down each box’s room, box number and contents (graph paper is great for keeping things recorded neatly). When unloading, check off each box as it gets unloaded at your new place. Then you’ll know everything arrived safely.
20. Labels out- Ask movers to stack boxes in your new place with the labels facing out so that you can easily spot a specific box.

Moving Day

21. Again, start early- You want to have everything as organized as possible prior to the arrival of the movers.
22. Use sitters- Recruit help in watching your small kids and pets on Moving Day. Your attention will be needed for the nuts and bolts of the move.
23. Have food ready- Whether you have professional movers or friends and family, having coffee, orange juice, and bagels or donuts available will make it easier for everyone to get started.
24. Proper payment- Almost all professional movers will demand payment in full and in cash before they will unpack a single box. Make sure you have payment ready.
25. Directions- Have directions and a map ready for anyone will be driving between your old place and your new place. Also, make sure you have the cell phone number of the driver of the truck entered into your cell phone, and that the driver has yours in case you get separated or have a problem.

These simple tips can help reduce the stress involved with moving. Make sure to read through the entire list, then follow the ones that make the most sense for your situation. In that sense, you’ll have your own, customized “best tips” list!

Following a few simple steps can eliminate a lot of stress later on. Here are some of our best tips on getting organized for moving:

1.	Start Early

The biggest problem with organizing a move is not allowing enough time. On average, it takes a college student approximately 5 hours to pack up a dorm room when moving out. That’s a single room where often only half the items belong to the student moving. If you multiple that by the number of rooms you have in your current place, you’ll quickly realize that the amount of time you’ll need just for packing is substantial.

Starting early gives you a huge advantage. While most people wait until just a few days prior to the move date for the majority of their packing hours, you can eliminate much of your moving stress by getting a jump on your moving tasks. People who follow this advice often have much smoother moves and lower stress levels for the entire process.

2.	Have a Plan For Your Move

There’s a huge temptation to just start the packing process with little or no planning. Unfortunately, it’s also a huge mistake. You wouldn’t start building a house without blueprints, and you shouldn’t start your move without a basic plan. The plan doesn’t need to be complicated, but it should include the following:
•	Number of days between now and your move date
•	Tasks required for your move, including getting moving supplies, changing your address, and packing
•	Number of rooms that need to be packed
•	Amount of help you’ll have available from friends, family, and professional movers
•	Quantity of items you have in each room
•	Amount of time you have available each day between now and the move
If you assign tasks by day and closely monitor your progress as you go, you’re much less likely to be surprised by running out of time.

3.	Use a Moving Checklist

One of the reasons moving is so stressful is the fact that there are so many details to track. All of your possessions (and much of your sense of security) are suddenly out of their usual places and “in flux.” Most of the usual landmarks are about to change, from where to get groceries to what your new address and phone number are going to be.

This is where the moving checklist comes in. One of the great things about moving is that you’re not alone- between 12% and 16% of American households move in any given year. That’s more than 30 million people! Many of those people have contributed to several moving checklists in books and on websites. Use these checklists both as a source for your plan and a set of reminders for what needs to be done. Some of the items may not apply to your situation, but they should give you an excellent starting point. One place to start is with our free, printable moving checklist with categories and priorities already assigned.

4.	Create a Moving Kit Organizer

Moving involves a great deal of paper. Leases and mortgages, moving estimates, new addresses and perhaps employers, checklists- it all adds up to a lot to track. It’s a good idea to have a central place for all that information. We recommend using a binder with pockets for the papers to be kept, with dividers to keep key information separate.

5.	Create “Open Me First” Boxes

It’s not unusual for a move to involve over a hundred boxes. And for each room in your home, there are some items that just seem more important on your first morning than others (for me, the coffee maker comes to mind). If you reserve one or two boxes for each room as Priority Boxes (also known as “Open Me First” boxes), you’ll have a much easier time on the other end of your move. Label these boxes with a “PB” in red on the side or with special labels that they’ll be easy to find after the move.

One word of caution- don’t fall victim to the temptation of having more than two Priority Boxes per room. If more than 2 boxes are Priority Boxes, the whole concept starts to lose its meaning, and it will end up causing more confusion instead of reducing stress.

These few steps can lead to a much more organized moving experience, and should do wonders to lower your stress level on the big day and after.

You can find much more free moving advice at Movers-Edge.com. Two of the most popular articles include advice on:

* truck rental for moving, as in how to rent a moving truck, and
* finding great movers and moving companies

Good luck on your move!
That is why I consider that choosing moving services with total care should be the main priority of each and every homeowner.

It is true that there are no guarantees that your move will go smoothly, there are some basic points a person may do to ensure a vast variety of decent relocation companies to choose from. In any case, doing a little bit of personal research in advance of the selection may help you to select the best mover. In any case before settling on a relocation company, it’s important to pay your greatest attention the following factors:

1.	Companies Reputation. This is quite vital that you are to take into account companies’ reputation when selecting the most relevant among available moving companies. To select the best one in your area, you may call local various local chambers of commerce and the better business bureau. It’s also a rather smart idea to consult with your family, friends and co-workers for some recommendations that they might have and share. The better the moving company’s reputation is, the more possibly it is that you will have a move avoid of stress. Still remember that one bad report doesn’t necessarily mean a relocating company is bad. No service is able to please all people.

2. Company’s Availability. It’s a wise idea to check and get to know if moving services in your area are available on the particular days you will need them. It’s rather possible that your first choice or even your second choice of moving company might not be available, which will make your research into mover’s background become a little bit more important.

3.	Pricing. Anyone considering any moving company should seek out moving quotes from company they’re currently interested in. Basically, what will be in the most cases required to obtain are dates for the entire move, the number of rooms of your house to be moved and carefully estimated mileage involved.

4. Fine print. Once a certain moving service has been reviewed and the most relevant and affordable was selected, a contract may generally be presented to you. Make sure to read this contract closely and understand all your responsibilities and rights under that contract before signing it up.

It is absolutely true fact that if you follow these simple advices you will most definitely find some good relocating company to perform your move.

Indeed, hiring the best of moving companies is not an easy task. The major part of people doesn’t stay in one place forever. When time comes to move, whether due to a work place transfer, to be not so far from family, or simply for the adventure of beginning their life over in a certain new place, it comes with a considerable price tag attached.

The farther you are going to move, the more it will cost. It is worth mentioning the longer the distance you need to move is the more complex the arrangements will appear to be. In the case of great complexity of your move there is more potential for the moving experience to get rather stressful. Planning ahead to avoid the potentially stressful points can go a long way in getting opportunity for you to look back on your move with totally happy thoughts, rather than making attempts to forget everything about it.

Actually there are plenty of ways to mitigate the potential risks involved with hiring long distance relocation services. First of all, check carefully the reputation of a certain long distance relocation company you are considering to hire. It is desirable to enter its name into Google search bar and read some reviews of former customers’ experiences. You may try to ask friends, family, and even your co-workers about the moving companies they used to hire when moving.

Also, you may consider being a great thing to personally pack and unpack your private property items yourself. In this way, you will only require the relocation company to transport up your property. In fact, it will cost you less. If you are able to ask friends and family to assist with moving, you may make this huge responsibility out of the hands of the relocating companies.

Ensure that all containers with your private possessions are carefully locked. Take your precious valuables in your hand bag, or you may consider some special arrangements in addition to make their move secure and safe. In some cases making additional arrangements is not rather cheap. But in may personal opinion peace of mind is worth the price paid.

It is worth saying that if you are making a long distance move you might most definitely need to carry out some advanced preparation. This preparation is basically performed in the form of due diligence by making researches the movers and careful planning what belongings will go with whom. Believe my personal experience that in this way your move will go a whole lot smoother.

Is there anything special about moving boxes vs. any other kind of boxes?

Yes. Moving boxes are constructed to be much sturdier than an ordinary cardboard box. That allows them to hold more weight while resisting tearing or crushing. Moving boxes usually cary a higher score on the ECT (Edge Crush Test) scale, demonstrating that they are better alternatives for the demands of a household move.

Secondly, there are specialized moving boxes to solve specific problems associated with moving. There are a few we would recommend:

* wardrobe boxes- these tall, deep boxes with built-in bars for hangers are ideal for transporting clothes from closets and shoes (in the bottom section).

* dish packs- sometimes called “cell boxes,” these units separate and protect dishes and glassware with internal dividers.

2. How many moving boxes will I need?

Every household is different, which makes every move different. The best recommendation is to purchase boxes from a retailer that allows you return any unused boxes, and then to purchase slightly more than you estimate. This allows you to have extra boxes (which most people find they need) while protecting yourself from overpacking.

That being said, here is a table of recommended box quantities:

3. How much do moving boxes cost?

The amount you’ll pay for boxes varies by the quality of the boxes themselves, how they’re being transported, and where you purchase them. NOTE: check around for prices well in advance of when you begin packing. It’s not usual for “last-minute” locations such as truck rental and self-storage unit offices to charge a premium of 50% or more over discount box warehouses.

You can expect to pay approximately $2 for book boxes, $3.50 for general packing boxes, and up to $9 for wardrobe boxes with bars and extra-large picture/mirror boxes.

4. Why are moving boxes so expensive?

Moving boxes can cost more than other boxes for any or several of the following reasons:

•	Materials and construction. Moving boxes are made to be more rugged, often using what’s called “double wall” construction. The materials and methods used to accomplish this are more expensive, making the boxes more expensive.

•	Convenience. Under the stress and urgency of a move, many people are more interested in getting their boxes quickly and easily than doing a lot of comparison shopping. That means retailers of self storage units, moving truck rentals and similar moving services don’t have much incentive to compete on price. That keeps those prices higher.

5. What about free moving boxes?

Free moving boxes are definitely something to consider. Here is what you should look for:

•	Extra-sturdy boxes, especially those that are double-walled.
•	Boxes used for transporting heavy items like filled bottles.
•	Pre-cut hand holds or handles
•	Dividers for separating compartments, where available
•	Boxes with lids so that they can be stacked without damaging their contents

Three of the best recommendations are to look for:

•	Copy paper boxes at local office buildings
•	Drink bottle boxes with dividers from local liquor stores
•	Book boxes from local libraries and bookstores

7. What about used moving boxes?

Used moving boxes are great so long as the boxes:

•	are clean on the inside, since dirt and insects can get into your belongings
•	can have their old labels reused, removed or “blacked out” easily
•	still have plenty of space for your new labels

One recommendation is to check out U-Haul’s used moving box exchange at <a href="http://www.uhaul.com/boards/default.aspx?ForumGroupID=4.<br" title="http://www.uhaul.com/boards/default.aspx?ForumGroupID=4.
www.uhaul.com/boards/default.aspx?ForumGroupID=4.<br />

8. Are there any good moving box alternatives?

There are a few alternatives to using traditional cardboard moving boxes. Here are just a few:

* Pack your luggage with items you’ll need over the first few days.
* Buy clear or translucent “Rubbermaid”-style plastic totes. That way you can use them for storage afterwards and more easily identify their contents.
* Laundry baskets are great for transporting, well, laundry! The big disadvantage is that they don’t stack well and have no lids.

If you follow the suggestions in this article, you should be in good shape for arranging moving boxes for your move.
